(a note from Coach Catabay)
Amazing results of all our teams winning all the matches on Thursday. But, the most important thing is to recognise the lessons that we can learn from the games played, win or lose, so we can be better at the next one.
Both Colchester Juniors teams A and B will remain on top of their respective groups while Team C is expected to climb in the ranking.
Final Results of Round 4:
Dundee City 1 vs. 7 Colchester Junior A
Edgware Gambits E 1.5 vs. 6.5 Colchester Junior B
Leeds Junior 5 3 vs. 5 Colchester Junior C
What fantastic efforts made by our team!
One game to mention is the first game played by Deimantas Salkauskas (Deimantas2013) a combination of tactical ideas, deflecting/enticing the Rook, and the double checked delivering the fantastic checkmate to the opponent’s King.
Check it out below...
Great game, Deimantas!
Until next time when Colchester Junior Chess Club plays in the 4NCL on Tuesday, thank you, Coach Catabay and thanks to all of our parents and hardworking players! Have a great week and check this space for more news from the club.
